I tend to be pretty buttoned up (literally) when it comes to work clothes. For the first half of my professional career I had a rule that I never wore open-toed shoes in the office. I’ve lightened up a bit, but I still tend to be pretty conservative.
So, aside from being ugly, maternity clothes present a unique challenge for me. Namely, the tops tend to be really low cut and the accompanying maternity bras tend to come up roughly the middle of one’s neck. The result is bra straps — and sometimes is more — popping out all over the place. I feel like I spend half my day tugging at my shirt and the rest of the day with my underwear hanging out.
This is so not me. Seriously.
